Some students have made future plans to continue their education after they graduate.
Ashley Falco, a UHV student and Jaguar athlete said, "One of my classes influenced me to want to go to law school after I graduate from UHV."
Other students however, like Patrick Nelson, said, "I really don't know what I want to do after I get my degree."
Whether students know what they want to do after graduation, there are tips, strategies and techniques that can be helpful to all students to prepare for their transition into a career.
The Career Services Center, located in the University West building, is a place where a student can explore career possibilities, search for jobs, prepare resumes, and get tips for job interviews.
The transition from college to a happy career can be smooth with the help of Eunice Mesa, UHV's Career Services coordinator.
"We are not just interested in finding you a job, but we want to help find you a career," Mesa said.
One opportunity for students to find a career is to attend a job fair.
UHV is sponsoring an Education and Human Development Job Fair in the University Center Multipurpose Room On April 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Eunice encourages all students to get career advice from these university benefits so that they can find out who is hiring, what jobs trends are popular and find out what is appealing to them.
